Description:
The Giles Kid's Fishing Day Committee hosts the 21st Annual Giles Kids Fishing Day event on Friday, May 3, 2024 at the Narrows Town Park.

Event Schedule:
• 4:00 PM: Gates Open
• 5:00-8:00 PM: Fishing for All Ages

This event is an important and positive influence on the children of this community. Our goal is to educate them on the joys of fishing and the dangers of drugs. We want to ensure that the children of Narrows and surrounding communities know that there are far better activities to participate in than drug use.

The first 400 kids will receive a free shirt and gift. There are over 200 golden ticket prizes the will be awarded as well. Trophies will be awarded for the biggest fish caught for both boy and girls for the age groups 3-8 and 9-15. There will also be kids activities for all ages next to the toddler play area.

Food will be available from the Narrows Volunteer Fire Department and Scoops Ice Cream. Each child will get a free ice cream ticket at the gate for a complimentary cool treat from Scoops.

There is a catch limit of six trout per child. Adults may assist children fishing, but may not fish alone.

This is a free event for ages 3-15 years. You do not need to live in Giles County to participate.

Gates open at 4:00 PM and all fishing for ages 3-15 without a fishing license ends at 8:00 PM.

Note: The event was originally scheduled for Saturday, May 4th, but was rescheduled due to expected rain.
