Description:
Science on Tap New River Valley presents the February program "Tiny Organs & Tricky Viruses" on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at Rising Silo Farm Brewery in Blacksburg, VA.
How do you study a virus that refuses to cooperate in the lab? Hannah Brown studies hepatitis E virus (HEV) using organoids, tiny, lab-grown mini-organs that mimic real human organs. Join us for an interactive challenge to see how your “health status” stacks up against a hepatitis E infection.
Admission is free and all ages are welcome.
Hosted by the Center for Communicating Science at Virginia Tech and Virginia Tech's chapter of Sigma Xi.
Rising Silo Farm Brewery is located at 2351 Glade Road in Blacksburg, VA.
