The Blacksburg Museum and Cultural Foundation presents "It's Your Move" Bike, Run, Walk, or Hike Challenge Fundraiser online throughout the month of June starting on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 through Wednesday, June 30, 2021.

The “It’s Your Move!” Challenge is a fundraiser designed to help raise awareness of the history, arts and cultural heritage of Blacksburg along with its historic riding, running, walking and hiking trails while supporting the organizations whose missions are to educate and build the community around them!

Money raised will benefit the Blacksburg Museum & Cultural Foundation with a portion going to the New River Valley Bicycle Association and Blacksburg Striders! Additionally, Friends of the Huckleberry Trail and ROAM-NRV will be involved with opportunities to learn more and get involved! Challenge participants will get links to some of the best trails around Blacksburg!

How it works:
• Register for free at https://charity.pledgeit.org/ItsYourMove
• Set a miles challenge and a fundraising goal on the personal participant page
• Share
• Spend the month of June riding, running, walking or hiking (your choice) around Blacksburg or wherever you are.

There are incentives including a commemorative “It’s Your Move!” patch and swag bag, t-shirts, and a one year membership to either the New River Valley Bicycle Association or Blacksburg Striders. In addition, each participant receives a free one year membership to the Blacksburg Museum and Cultural Foundation. Anyone who raises $1,000 or more will be entered into a drawing for an awesome “adventure package.”

Participation can be from anywhere in the world, not just around Blacksburg. Pictures and miles completed can be uploaded using either the Strava App (free version available) or manually at the website. Form a team and add to the enjoyment creating a friendly competition with another team from work, friends or family!

Participants will get links to great, local historic trails and walks that will teach you history of the area while exercising your mind and body.

June is a great month to ride, run, walk or hike through history!
