Several poems explore the writer's middle-class Jewish upbringing in Brooklyn, New York which include painful and humorous memories. In addition, many poems reflect on cinematic, literary and artistic works which have made a lasting impact on the writer. The final section engages with some of the contemporary issues the author considers as he deals with aging and retirement.
