UPDATE: The Floyd Radio Show scheduled for Saturday, October 5th will be rescheduled. Host Kelley Breiding is unable to be here this week due to the Hurricane damage in her area. We will be adding a date on January 4th, 2025 to make up for this cancellation.

The Floyd Country Store kicks off The Floyd Radio Show 2024/2025 season on Saturday, October 5, 2024.

Join us at the Floyd Country Store for The Floyd Radio Show with host Kelley Breiding and musical guests The New Ballards Branch Bogtrotters and The Rust Family Band.

The Floyd Radio Show is an old-timey variety show with original radio plays, comedy bits, ads, jingles, music and more, hosted by Kelley Breiding. Celebrating old time and traditional music with people and communities where music is played and enjoyed in its authentic and purest forms. The show is rooted in Floyd, VA where a musical and artistic community provides endless inspiration for the show, which appears live at the Floyd Country Store.

About 25 years ago a group of musicians from the Galax, VA area formed a new band. The New Ballards Branch Bogtrotters took their name, in part from the original Bogtrotters of the 1930's also because band leader Dennis Hall lives on Ballards Branch. They won the very first fiddlers Convention in Galax setting a precedence for all that follow in their footsteps.

The New Ballard's Branch Bogtrotters continue to play in the traditional Appalachian string-band style often playing for square dances around the region. Old time music is alive and well, and continues to attract fans of all ages. The New Ballards Branch Bogtrotters remain a driving force in carrying the traditional music of the Virginia/Carolina Blue Ridge into the new millennium. It is our hope to be an inspiration for future generations of mountain musicians!

The Rust Family Band is a Kingsport, Tennessee based gospel and country music band.

Tickets are $20.00 for general admission and $25.00 reserved seating, for sale online at https://aftontickets.com/event/buyticket/z59r7vdkjq and in-person in the store.

Doors open at 6:00 PM and the show starts at 7:00 PM.

This season features four shows on October 5th, December 7th, February 1st and April 5th. Season passes are also available for $75.00 per person.

The Floyd Radio Show will also be livestreamed on Floyd Country Store TV.
