Tyler Nail Trio (Band)
Biography:
The Tyler Nail Trio officially formed in 2013. We billed around as Tyler Nail, The Tyler Nail Band, Tyler Nail and Friends, and so on. One night the trio arrived in Floyd, VA for a show and saw that we were billed as The Tyler Nail Trio. The three of us decided that the name was good enough to keep.
We play songs from the Tyler Nail catalog, as well as covers and traditional stuff. We basically interpret them for the sound of the trio. We all vary in influences, which are all present to some degree in the sound. But the fundamental theme of the band is minimalistic Americana. We sound a bit southern Appalachian. We pay homage to the tradition of American music, and we push ourselves sonically outside of those themes as we can.
