The Floyd Country Store presents the Friday Night Jamboree inside with The Farleys and The Whitetop Mountain Band on Friday, July 23, 2021. Event Schedule: • 6:30 PM: The Farleys • 7:30 PM: The Whitetop Mountain Band • 9:00 PM: The Whitetop Mountain Band The Friday Night Jamboree after being moved online and outside due to COVID has now returned back inside! The Whitetop Mountain Band is a family-based band that originated in the 1940s. They have deep roots in mountain music and their members have done much to preserve the Whitetop region’s style of old time fiddling and banjo picking. Their performances are also noted for their versatility, often containing blues, classic country, honky tonk pieces and traditional bluegrass. They are a tour de force of playing, singing, and dance, and they are gifted entertainers as well. They are one of the busiest groups in the Appalachians, performing concerts, festivals, competitions and for dances in America and abroad in the United Kingdom and Australia. They have been featured in many books, magazines and TV/radio shows about Appalachian music such as "The Guide to the Crooked Road", "Strings of Life”, Country Music Television, Travel Channel, PBS and more. The first hour is gospel music and this is followed by two dance bands. The dance bands provide the right beat for our enthusiastic crowd of flat foot dancers and cloggers. General admission tickets for the Jamboree are sold at the door only starting no earlier than 4:45 PM on Friday's. Reserved seating is now also available in a very limited number of reserved seats, located in the center section starting from the second row through the fifth row. Reserve seating is limited to 40 seats with a maximum eight tickets per order. Seating is assigned on a first-come, first served basis, per customer request and special needs. The livestream is free with donations accepted to support the musicians. The Jamboree operates on “Granny’s Rules” – no smoking, no drinking alcohol, no bad language, and no conduct unbecoming to a lady or a gentleman.
