The Virginia Tech School of Performing Arts continues their Music on Mondays concert series featuring Ein Schumann-Abend with pianist Richard Masters on Monday, November 1, 2021 inside the Squires Recital Salon on the campus of Virginia Tech. Please join us for a night with Robert Schumann. One of the most turbulent and complicated Romantic era composers, Schumann is best-remembered for his piano works and songs. On this program, we will explore Dichterliebe ("A Poet's Love"), Schumann's beloved song cycle that tells a story of love and loss; the tender and joyous Adagio and Allegro arranged for clarinet and piano; and the curious Humoreske, a major piano work not often performed in the United States. Faculty pianist Richard Masters is joined by faculty friend Ariana Wyatt, soprano, and Yevgeny Dokshansky, clarinetist. Admission is free and no tickets are required. The concert will also be live streamed. To view the livestream, visit: http://www.music.vt.edu/live/. For the safety of our audiences and performers, masks are currently required for attendance at all School of Performing Arts indoor events, regardless of vaccination status.
