Description: Virginia Tech Alumni Association presents the Sesquicentennial HokieTalk titled "Expanding Knowledge" offered both in-person and online on Saturday, October 16, 2021 inside the Holtzman Alumni Center.

The Virginia Tech Sesquicentennial will advance our vision for the future through three themes: solving problems, expanding knowledge, and creating and engaging communities. Join us for this HokieTalk, which will focus on expanding knowledge.

Both teaching and learning as well as community engagement are integrated in this theme. We will be joined by Virginia Tech experts who will discuss leadership education for the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets, social justice and service learning in South India, and food insecurity and hunger in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Panelists include:
• Captain Jamie McGrath, Director for the Major General W. Thomas Rice Center for Leader Development, Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets

• Elena Serrano, Professor of Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences/Virginia Cooperative Extension

• Bonnie Zare, Professor of Sociology, College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences

Admission is free though registration is required for in-person attendance.
