Description: The Virginia Tech Police Department presents their annual Hot Dog Luncheon for Special Olympics on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 outside the Virginia Tech Public Safety Building.

Students, employees, and community members are invited to attend. Attendees can purchase hot dogs, chips, desserts, drinks individually or as a meal for $5.00 which includes two hot dogs, chips, dessert and drink.

The fundraiser has local sponsors each year that donate the foods and supplies needed to make the meals. Volunteers from across the university donate the individually wrapped baked goods to complete the meals. During the event, volunteers also help roll, bun, and wrap the hot dogs as they are made.

All proceeds benefit the Special Olympics Virginia. On average, the luncheon raises about $3,000 for Special Olympics Virginia events such as the annual Special Olympics Basketball Tournament at Cassell Coliseum.

Cash or check only.

All are welcome to attend. Parking is available in the Southgate and Coliseum lots with the appropriate parking permit.

The Public Safety Building is located at 330 Sterrett Drive in Blacksburg, VA.
