Description: The Virginia Native Plant Society: New River Chapter presents the Annual National Forest Appreciation Day on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Pandapas Pond.

Join Virginia Native Plant Society New River chapter members and other nature lovers for National Forest Appreciation Day. Fruits of the Forest is the topic this year. Come by and learn what a fruit really is, how fruits are related to flowers, and see some of the diversity of fruits that plants produce.

Birds and insects, including live dragonflies, will also be featured.

The event will be held pond side near the restrooms from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

The Virginia Native Plant Society (VNPS), founded in 1982 as the Virginia Wildflower Preservation Society, is a nonprofit organization of individuals who share an interest in Virginia’s native plants and habitats. The Society and its chapters seek to further the appreciation and conservation of this priceless heritage.

The New River Chapter covers the counties of Bland, Carroll, Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, Pulaski and Wythe. Towns of Blacksburg, Christiansburg and City of Radford.
