Description: The Lifelong Learning Institute at Virginia Tech presents their Spring Preview online on Zoom on Tuesday, January 31, 2023.

The Lifelong Learning Institute at Virginia Tech is a member-driven, volunteer organization that draws on the wealth of academic and community resources in the New River Valley and beyond to provide intellectual, cultural, and social experiences for curious adults 50 and older.

Thirty-one courses will be offered for Spring 2023 with 7 online, 23 in-person, and 1 in both formats - something for everyone! Course titles and format are listed on the Courses-at-a-Glance summary. Lifelong Learning Institute at Virginia Tech Five field trips are on the schedule, each for a small fee. Enjoy topics like Appalachian music, US foreign policy, human stem cells and gene therapy, reading Sherlock Holmes, James Baldwin, or science fiction, and loads of technology how-to classes. There are plenty of opportunities for small classes to engage your creative spirit, like painting your own barn quilt or writing poetry.

Both Zoom and in-person classes and lectures are available. Online learning options are great if you live at a distance and want to participate from your own home. Free special events are a great member benefit. Three Zoom webinars and five in-person programs are on the schedule. You may sign up for as many of these events as you plan to attend.

Spring course registration begins Monday, February 6th at 10:00 AM. Many courses fill up quickly. To ensure you have a spot, be sure to sign up early.
