The Association of Chinese Students and Scholars at Virginia Tech presents their New Year Temple Fair event on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Owens Banquet Hall located within Owens Hall on the campus of Virginia Tech. Join our New Year Temple Fair for Lunar New Year featuring over 15 booths with Chinese board games, snacks for the Lunar New Year and free gifts for attendees. There will be a cultural program featuring more than 10 performances with participation from Virginia Tech students, the Blacksburg Chinese School and the Chaoxic Dance Crew will be performing. The Association of Chinese Students and Scholars has been pioneering the celebration of this cultural holiday for decades with involvement from Chinese students at Virginia Tech as well as the broader Chinese diasporic community within Blacksburg. Lunar New Year marks the beginning of spring in Chinese culture and the nation officially recognizes the holiday as the Spring Festival. This year will be the Year of the Rabbit according to the Chinese tradition. Admission is free and all are welcome.
