Claytor Lake State Park presents the program "Survival 101: Fire Starting" on Saturday, May 30, 2026. What does fire mean to you? Warmth on a cold night? A chance to spend time with friends and family? Our rangers will go over the basics of fire building, and all participants will get a chance to start a fire without the assistance of matches or lighters. The event is free, but the $7.00 state park parking fee per vehicle still applies. Claytor Lake State Park is located at 6620 Ben H. Bolen Drive in Dublin, VA.
