Event Schedule: • 7:00 AM - 10:00 PM: Trails Open • 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM: Meet the Bees: A Hands-On Hive Adventure (Behind Farmhouse) • 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM: Boat House Open (Free Canoe Use) • 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM: Selu Scenery Plein Air Workshop (Bathhouse) • 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM: Tick Talks with Dr. Jenny Hall (Entrance) • 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM: Guided Plant Hike (Meet Beside Barn) • 1:00-1:45 PM: Guided Yoga (Big Johns Laughing Place) • 2:00-4:00 PM: Arts & Crafts (Barn) • 2:00-5:00 PM: Volunteer Seed Packing (Barn) • 6:00-9:00 PM: Open Jam Session (Farmhouse) • 9:00-10:00 PM: Observatory Open Come out to the Selu Conservancy to celebrate American Hiking Society's National Trails Day! National Trails Day® is a time to connect with people near you who share your love of being outside. Trails connect us to nature and to each other and National Trails Day® is an incredible opportunity to experience that connection firsthand. Listen to the birdsong, enjoy the fresh air, and take in the beauty of the trees, blooming flowers, and the natural world around you. There's nothing quite like being present in the outdoors. Feel free to hike, stroll, picnic, sit, reflect, or just be. There are 3.5 miles of wooded trails and 2.0 miles of gravel roads. Come and go as you like! Join us for programming, including: • A Beehive Demonstration • Selu Scenery Watercolor Workshop • Informational Tick Talks • Guided Plant Hike • Guided Yoga • Arts & Crafts • Volunteer Seed Packing • Open Jam Session • Observatory This event is free and open to the public. All humans are welcome though pets must stay at home. The special programming is provided by Radford University faculty and staff and friends of Selu. All supplies will be provided. Radford University’s Selu Conservancy is located just minutes from campus on 380 acres along the Little River. Located only seven miles from campus, Selu also serves as an extended classroom. Beautiful views, abundant trails, an impressive retreat center and a river-front boathouse provide an ideal environment for corporate meetings, family reunions, school outings or for other groups seeking an off-the-beaten-path retreat.
