Description:
The Wilderness Road Regional Museum presents a Special Guided Tour of Ingles Tavern and One-Day Swords of the Patriots Display on Sunday, July 28, 2019 as part of Mary Draper Ingles Remembrance Day 2019.
Schedule:
• 12:00-5:00 pm: One-Day Swords of the Patriots Display
• 2:00-4:00 pm: Tour of Ingles Tavern
"Swords of the Patriots" will feature the dress swords of Colonel William Preston, Colonel William Fleming and Colonel William Ingles and will be on display for this one day only. During the exhibit only, visitors may obtain a pass to tour Ingles Tavern.
The special Tour of Ingles Tavern will only be offered through the museum from 2:00-4:00 pm, with 60 spaces available. Guests must come to museum first to get the access passes.
Ingles Tavern, located on the Pulaski County side of the Ingles Ferry crossing, was established by William Ingles and his wife Mary. From 1773 until around 1855, someone within the Ingles family had a license to operate an ordinary or public house and Ingles Tavern became a complex of services for travelers along the Great Road. Join us for this very special, limited-access event.
Donations will be accepted.
