Native at Virginia Tech and the American Indian & Indigenous Community Center at Virgina Tech presents the Fifth Annual Spring Powwow this year held virtually on Facebook on Saturday, April 3, 2021.

Schedule of Events:
• 1:00 pm: Opening with SDP Co-Founders
• 1:30 pm: Head Man Christian Stewart
• 2:00 pm: Host Northern Drum WarPaint Singers
• 3:00 pm: Virginia Tech Representatives
• 3:30 pm: Head Lady Dancer Ashton Whitefeather Montez
• 4:00 pm: Host Southern Drum Southern Boyz
• 5:00 pm: Final Contest Uploads/Closing
• 6:00 pm: Winners Announced

Native at Virginia Tech hosted its first powwow on campus in the spring of 2017. It has since become an annual tradition that the campus community and student organization are very proud of. The powwow highlights the diverse cultures of Native peoples within the Commonwealth of Virginia and from Native communities throughout the entire southeast region of the country and beyond. The powwow features Indigenous arts and crafts, Native dance exhibitions, and music.

There are three open contests:
• Singing Contest
• 18+ Men's Traditional Contest
• 18+ Women's Jingle Contest
