The New River Valley Bicycle Association and Pathways for Radford present the 13th Annual Ride of Silence on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 starting and ending in the Sal's / El Charro in Radford, VA.
Schedule of Events:
• 6:30 pm – Staging begins
• 6:45 pm – Speakers and Instructions
• 6:59 pm – Moment of Noise
• 7:00 pm– Ride of Silence begins
Join cyclists worldwide in a silent, slow-paced ride in honor of those who have been hurt or killed while cycling on public roadways. We will have a police escort along the seven-mile route and will ride at a slow pace. Though solemn, the group ride is enjoyable and inspirational to riders of all ages, experience and ability.
Helmets are required and masks will be required at the beginning of the ride or any time that social distancing cannot be practiced.
The New River Valley ride was first organized in 2008 after the untimely death of Fess Green, a local professor and veteran cyclist.
If you cannot ride, we welcome your support for bike safety. Join us along the route on Main Street (from Sal’s and El Charro to the Dedmon Center).
Participants are invited to gather at Sal’s and El Charro following the ride to commemorate the 11th annual ride. Please feel free to share this with friends and family!
The Parking Lot is located at 709 West Main Street in Radford, VA in front of Sal's and El Charro.
