The Montgomery-Floyd Regional Library presents an online virtual Author Talk with author S.C. Quesenberry and his book "Cavemen Supersonic: A Tale of Three Brothers, A Memoir of Southwest Virginia" on Thursday, June 10, 2021.

S.C. Quesenberry grew up in Southwest Virginia surrounded by several unique groups of people. Hippies, hillbillies, counter culturists, criminals, and eccentrics, all made up the fabric of what was normal. He spent the bulk of his time chasing personal interests. He loves chess, music, literature, cooking, writing, and travel.

Quesenberry dropped out of high school in the 10th grade, and began his travels up and down the East Coast. Eventually, he began his career as a chef in the D.C. area. He has had great success through the 2000’s, all the while traveling and playing in different bands.

S.C writes about Appalachian culture, people, and locations that are all gleaned from his personal experience. He also enjoys writing about the collected tales and lore accumulated from his early years.

"Caveman Supersonic" Synopsis:
In Appalachia, things are never quite as they are in other areas of the United States. Southwest Virginia has a culture all of its own, and they fully embrace it. In Floyd, a young boy is growing, watching, and trying to escape the terror that haunts his dreams each night.

As he plays in the graveyard, he is drawn to the Witch’s Table, a place where he feels safe - yet can hear the whisper from the witch.
