Description:
The Floyd Center for the Arts presents the Opening Reception for "The Gift of Art: 26 Years an Art Center" on Saturday, June 26, 2021.
“The Gift of Art: 26 Years an Art Center”, celebrates the Floyd Center for the Arts’ 26th Anniversary as an Art Center. For the exhibition, the Floyd Center for the Arts invited artists and makers who have been active with the Center over the last 26 years to exhibit work.
The exhibition features works by 39 artists spanning many types of 2D & 3D media, including fiber arts, pottery, painting, photography and more.
"There’s a great mix of artists in this show including artists that have been with the Center since it started, and artists that began their relationship with us recently," said Kate Skelly, Floyd Center for the Arts’ Director of Programming. "We weren’t able to gather as a community for the Center’s 25th Anniversary last year due to the pandemic, so this Anniversary Exhibition opening reception is especially meaningful."
A "People’s Choice" award of $50 will be awarded. The public is invited to vote for their favorite piece. The winner will be announced after the end of the exhibit on August 7th.
Admission is free and all are welcome.
The exhibit is on display from June 12th through August 7th.
