The Newport Ruritan Club presents the 2021 Newport Independence Day Parade and Duck Race on Monday, July 5, 2021 starting at the Newport First Christian Church and ending at the Newport Community Park.
Celebrate Independence Day with the annual Newport parade! The parade route starts at the Newport First Christian Church and ends at the Village of Newport Park.
The annual duck race will be held at the conclusion of the parade in Sinking Creek at Newport Park. There will be a Children's Duck Race and an Adult Duck Race.
For the Children's Race, ducks are $1.00 and there will be two preliminary children's races. For the preliminary races, small cash prizes will be awarded to the three winners of each of the first two races. The top three in each children's race will then compete in the Champion's Race for a chance to win a duck race plaque.
The Adult Race will follow. Ducks are $5.00 each for the adult race and there will be a 50/50 payout for the winner.
Newport Sports will be selling concessions to benefit their organization and Big Lick Ice Cream will also be on hand at the conclusion of the parade at the Newport Community Park.
For those who want to participate in the parade, meet at the Newport First Christian Church located on Rose Road at 10:30 AM.
