The Mountain Dominion District hosts the Awesome August Family Camp on the weekend of Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Camp Roland in Bastian, Virginia.

The Awesome August Family Camp is a special combined Cub Scout / Scouts BSA Family Camp. The camp is open to current Scout families and any new families at would like to come and see what Scouting is about.

In addition to camping, youth will get to participate in shooting sports, learn outdoor survival skills (Cub Scouts will earn adventure loops towards rank advancement), and play lots of games. Special events on Saturday include a Trebuchet demonstration, a campfire program featuring “Old Jonah” the Appalachian Mountain Storyteller, and an ice cream social. Campers may participate in as many or as few activities as they wish, and activities are subject
to change.

The cost is $10.00 for youth and $5.00 for adults.

Registration ends on Thursday, August 19th, 2021 at 11:59 PM.

Families may camp Friday and/or Saturday night or just come for the daytime events on Saturday starting at 8:30 AM. Families must provide their own camping gear and meals.
