Description:
Long Way Brewing presents Parkers Pill Box in concert on Friday, September 17, 2021.
Parker's Pillbox is the ultimate festy jam band, known for their fun and energetic live performances. Founder Randy Parker describes the band's essence as "Blues, as far as can be explored in any direction." With elements of funk, reggae, jazz, grunge, and even classic country, the Parker's Pillbox catalogue continually pushes boundaries and entrance audiences of all ages and musical backgrounds.
The band's "stripped down" three-piece structure follows Parker's vision of creating raw, gritty rock and roll. He is joined by professional musicians Bill Ratcliffe on bass and Adam Bryant on drums. Parker's Pillbox has been described as "a music lovers delight," with the notoriously gifted guitarist Randy Parker "making it look easy" (Robert Gropman, owner of Long Way Brewing, Radford, VA).
Randy Parker is a guitarist's guitar player, phenomenal chops with a wealth of soul. He has long been held in high regard in the blues community for his authentic style, reminiscent of legends like Jimi Hendrix, SRV, Eric Clapton, Muddy Waters, and Howling Wolf. Randy cites his influences as power lines, foundry dust, and the muddy banks of the New River Valley.
