The Virginia Tech School of Performing Arts welcomes trumpeter Ryan Gardner on Saturday, September 18, 2021 for the Virginia Tech Trumpet Festival inside the Squires Recital Salon on the campus of Virginia Tech.

Gardner is Associate Professor of Trumpet at the University of Colorado Boulder. He is an avid performer, and serves as the Artistic Coordinator for Music for Autism.

Gardner has been privileged to work with artists such as Ray Charles, Doc Severinson, Wayne Bergeron, Lenny Pickett, Mark Inouye, Don Green, Allan Vizzutti, the Canadian Brass, Michael Tillson-Thomas, Esa-Pekka Solonen, and David Zinman, to name a few. He can be heard on the Naxos, Mark Records, and BX Entertainment labels and is a Bach performing artist and clinician.

The Festival Concert will feature Caroline Bingham, 2018 Allen Bachelder Trumpet Scholorship Winner; James Bean; Jason Crafton; Kevin Cheatham; and Ryan Gardner, with Byunghee Yoo, piano.

Admission is $25.00 for the general public and $7.00 for students.

All proceeds from the festival will benefit the Allen Bachelder Trumpet Scholarship Fund, which seeks to award two scholarships each year: one to an incoming student and one to a current student who consistently raises the bar.
