Eastern Divide Brewing presents an Oktoberfest Celebration on Friday, October 8, 2021.
Enjoy live music from The Sauerkraut Band performing their traditional Oktoberfest music from 6:00-9:00 PM including polkas and prosts. The Antecedents Duo will open the music. Additionally, challenge your friends to axe throwing with Blue Ridge Axe Throwing or join our Stein Hoisting Competitions to win Eastern Divide prizes!
The Sauerkraut Band is a professional musical organization based in the New River Valley in Southwest Virginia performing authentic German style music in traditional Bavarian style clothing.
The musical styles include traditional beer tent favorites such as Leichtensteiner Polka, Rosemunde (Beer Barrel Polka), Alte Kameraden Marsch, Yorkshire Marsch, and group-participation numbers such as The Chicken Dance and Rucki Zucki. Comprised of over a dozen members, the band’s repertoire spans a wide range of polkas, waltzes, and marches, as well as folk dances such as the landler, schuplattler, and zwiefache.

The Antecedents are a heartfelt American roots, rock ‘n roll band from the mountains of Appalachia in Southwest Virginia. With three-part harmony leading the sound you will find yourselves emerged in the vibes of the singer-song writer.
The Antecedents began as a local duo and are now a six piece band dedicated to writing songs with substance, and depth. With influences ranging from all over the timeline of music this acoustic duo has found a unique but familiar approach to modern songwriting, while staying true to the format that captivates a listener's enjoyment. Performing folk, roots, pop, alternative and country.
Throughout 2017 they began opening for national acts, performing at renowned festivals and released their first full length record, “Long Way Home”. The band won the Flight to FloydFest Series in 2018 and earned FloydFest 2018's On the Rise featured act spot and after a fantastic performance have been invited back.
