Description:
The Virginia Native Plant Society (VNPS) New River Chapter presents their October Chapter Meeting in-person at the Blacksburg Library and virtually on Zoom on Tuesday, October 12, 2021.

Urban Forestry is a Public Service by Jaime King, first ever arborist at Virginia Tech. What trees do for us, how we manage them, and how people can get involved, all through the context of Jamie's work at VT and past work in Roanoke, VA. The presentation includes photos and is a lot like a remote tour of trees at VT and in the surrounding region.

It will also be streamed live via Zoom for those unable to attend in person. Please send a request for Zoom log-in instructions to our chapter e-mail at nrchaptervnps@gmail.com.

It will also eventually be videotaped and placed in our YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCC0xV2LLc4XjltHhAlpdtug/featured for later viewing for those unable to attend.

The Virginia Native Plant Society (VNPS), founded in 1982 as the Virginia Wildflower Preservation Society, is a nonprofit organization of individuals who share an interest in Virginia’s native plants and habitats. The Society and its chapters seek to further the appreciation and conservation of this priceless heritage.

The New River Chapter covers the counties of Bland, Carroll, Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, Pulaski and Wythe. Towns of Blacksburg, Christiansburg and City of Radford.
