The Floyd Country Store presents the Season 10 Premiere of The Floyd Radio Show with hosts Andrew Small & Ashlee Watkins and special guests Tray Wellington Band and The Red Herrings on Saturday, November 6, 2021.

Tray Wellington Band is a high energy acoustic Newgrass group led by banjo virtuoso, and multi-time IBMA Award winner, and 2019 Momentum Instrumentalist of the year Tray Wellington.

This group pushes the bounds of bluegrass music, incorporating Bossa Nova, Jazz, and Blues elements, to their originals to create a unique, new exciting sound, as well as pay tribute to their Bluegrass heroes before them. They have opened for a number of premiere artists in bluegrass including Dan Tyminski, and Joe Mullins.

Bob Herring, Amy Davis and Jon Newlin began playing at Merritt’s Grill in Chapel Hill, NC for tips and BLT sandwiches.

"Trouble in Mind" is their first recording. Fiddler Bob Herring performed with Frank Hall & the Easy Street String Band, Brad Leftwich and Linda Higgenbotham and Rafe Stefanini. Amy and Jon played with the NC band The Hushpuppies, and perform with their niece, Elizabeth LaPrelle.

Live from The Floyd Country Store in the heart of downtown Floyd, Virginia! The Floyd Country Store brings together a new variety show every month celebrating American roots music. A series of guest hosts will perform original radio plays, comedy bits, ads, jingles, music and more. Each show features the finest old-timey musical acts, from storytelling banjo players to flatpicking guitarists to hard-driving string bands.

Each show is streamed live during the show and is available as a podcast. Many of the past show are re-broadcasted by partnering radio stations.

The Floyd Country Store occurs on the first Saturday of the month from September through May.

Per federal and state guidance, fully vaccinated individuals are not required to wear a face-covering at this establishment. Those who are not vaccinated against COVID-19 must continue to wear a face-covering to protect themselves and others.

Note: The Season 10 Premiere was originally scheduled for September 4, 2021, but was postponed due to rising COVID cases.
