Blacksburg Newcomers Club hosts their February Monthly Meeting on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 starting at 9:00 AM at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church.
The meeting begins at 9:00 AM with a social time, followed by our featured speaker, Becca Rainey of Original Frameworks, at 9:30 AM.
For the last 17 years Becca has poured her heart and creativity into education, as a classroom teacher and an elementary librarian. She aspires to continually curate a collection of hand-crafted art and goods, created by a diverse group of artisans and craftspeople, along with antique and vintage pieces. Becca will demonstrate her talents by reframing two watercolor artwork during the meeting. This is a great opportunity for attendees who want advice on framing to bring in their artwork and ask questions, so if you have artwork and would like to talk to Becca, please bring it with you to the meeting. There is a lot to learn and we are excited that she is willing to share her knowledge with us.
All meetings are free and open to the public for both new and longtime New River Valley residents.
No food is permitted in the building, although you are welcome to bring your beverage of choice.
Masks are required to be worn inside per facility requirements.
Since the 1960s, people who have made Blacksburg and the New River Valley their home have found the transition made easier by joining the Blacksburg Newcomers’ Club. Our organization is open to all residents of the New River Valley, whether you are new to the area or not.
Making new friends, becoming part of the community and providing community service in the NRV is what we are all about. Please be our guest at our monthly meeting to learn more about this great organization.
