Description:
UPDATE: After careful assessment of recent weather conditions, we have made the decision to move this Saturday’s New River Polar Plunge® Festival from Bisset Park to the field adjacent to the Radford City Office at 20 Robertson Street. At this location, plungers will have the opportunity to plunge into an icy above ground pool and enjoy the full New River Polar Plunge Festival!

Special Olympics Virginia along with the Radford City Police Department and Radford University presents the 2022 Special Olympics New River Polar Plunge® Festival on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Dudley's Landing in Bisset Park.

Schedule:
• 10:00 AM: Check In / Registration Begins
• 12:30 PM: Plunge Festivities Begin (Opening Ceremonies, Costume Contest, Safety Briefing)
• 1:00 PM: Registration Closes

Grab your closest friends and family and come on out for the New River Polar Plunge® Festival! We have prizes for the best costumes and top fundraisers, heated changing tents to take the chill off, and of course an icy dip into the New River with hundreds of your closest friends!

It’s $100.00 to participate which benefit the Special Olympics and includes a Polar Plunge t-shirt, but the more you raise, the cooler the incentives. We have prizes for the best costumes and top fundraisers, heated changing tents and restrooms to use throughout the event to take the chill off and of course an icy dip into the New River!

Every penny we raise supports 23,000 athletes of all abilities.

There will be music and entertainment throughout the event.

To register to plunge online, visit: https://impact.specialolympicsva.org/campaign/new-river-polar-plunge-2022/c367582.

The plunge is open to the entire community to help us raise money to benefit the amazing athletes of Special Olympics Virginia! If you are under 18, your parent or guardian must sign your waiver form.

Walk-ins the day of the event are welcome.

We highly recommend the use of footwear (water shoes, sneakers) while taking the plunge at Bisset Park.

Please note that diving and flipping is strictly prohibited.
