The Forestry Club at Virginia Tech presents Timberbeast 2022, a timber sports collegiate competition, on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at New River Valley Fairgrounds in Dublin, VA.
Support our students as they compete against 11 other schools in both technical and physical events such as crosscut, bow saw, underhand chop, axe throw, archery and more. This competition prepares these competitors for the 63rd Annual Southern Forestry Conclave at The University of Tennessee this spring.
Participating schools include:
• Clemson
• WVU
• NC State
• Haywood Community College
• Montgomery Community College
• Western Carolina University
This is an all-day, free admission event with technical events starting at 8:00 AM. Most of the physical events will be held in the afternoon and a dinner starting after the conclusion of the last event starting at approximately at 5:30 PM.
There will also be a Log-A-Load raffle giveaway of STIHL equipment including a Sthil 271 Farm Boss Chainsaw, a Sthil MS 170 Chainsaw and a Sthil BG 50 Leaf Blower. Tickets are $5.00 each or five tickets for $20.00 and will be sold at the event. All the proceeds will benefit the Children's Miracle Network.
Bad Dog Barbeque will be on site providing food.
The New River Valley Fairgrounds is located at 5581 Fair Grounds Circle in Dublin, VA.
