Description:
#VTDITC: Hip Hop Studies at Virginia Tech presents #VTDITC Vol. 34: We Gon' Be Alright: Hip Hop and Healing on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 in #VTDITC's studio, True School Studio, located within the Virginia Tech Media Building on the campus of Virginia Tech.
Indigenous, African, and Black history has shown us that storytelling and sharing of personal narratives has the power to heal. Many people gravitate to Hip Hop because artists’ raw, authentic, and genuine self-expression offers people a voice they can connect to.
Join Virginia Tech alumna and professor of psychology Dr. Apryl Alexander as she discusses the importance of Hip Hop as a form of healing, particularly during sociopolitical movements.
Event is free and open to the public.
The Virginia Tech Media Building is located at 101 Draper Road in Blacksburg, VA on the campus of Virginia Tech.
