Description:
The Virginia Tech Union presents State of the Alt: Heartbreak Tour with Wild Love and The Foxies on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Haymarket Theater inside the Squires Student Center on the campus of Virginia Tech.
This year's edition of State of the Alt sports a twist on that classic spring bliss. Join us for a good night of music and fun!
Originally formed from a chance high school bus stop encounter in Virginia, the band hails from all over the world (Ireland, Turkey, New York) and quickly made a name for themselves after moving to Nashville, playing larger venues like Marathon Music Works, festivals like Live on the Green, and receiving support from Nashville’s largest independent radio station Lightning 100 across all their singles.
Since the move, through the singing and songwriting of frontman Brandon Gorman (Ireland), the production of guitarist Michael Crecca (New York) and groove of bassist Sayg?n Geçener (Turkey), they’ve taken their lively, attitude driven rock sound and channeled it into hook heavy pop songs for a new era of Wild Love.
This new era of is set to boast songs the have the attitude of 90s/2000s pop punk bands like Green Day and Sum 41, the sonic and lyrical tone of British and Scottish guitar bands like Blur, The Vaccines and Franz Ferdinand, with the sheen of modern pop bands like Valley and The Academic.

https://www.instagram.com/wearewildlove/Nothing truly dies in a goth disco especially not rock. By now, the self-fulfilling prophecy that rock is dead is all too familiar and all too cliché. But you’ll find no evidence for it with The Foxies, a glitter punk band from Nashville, Tennessee.
A modern power trio built on thrashing punk energy and the hypnotic pageantry of electronic pop, The Foxies feral brand of rock is just now emerging, despite more than half a decade of restless prowling. They’ve already built a loyal following through euphoric live shows and snarling, self-styled recordings, preaching empowerment and sharp-toothed individuality at maximum volume. But with the new EP, "Growing Up Is Dead", they’ve found a brave new creative focus – evidence that rock ‘n’ roll is very much alive.
"I think rock’s just been sleeping for a bit, and it’s about time to wake the bear,” says front woman and band founder, Julia Lauren Bullock. “and right now we have a very pointy stick."
Conceived in Arizona, but born in Nashville, The Foxies have previously attracted critical intrigue with two cunning EPs (Oblivion, Battery) and a pair of stand-along singles (“Be Afraid Boy,” “Chewing Gum”), highlighted by Nashville Staples Native Magazine and Lightning 100 Radio. Along the way they were also tapped for volume 63 of now that’s what I call music and made standout appearances at prominent festivals like Sundance, South By Southwest and Bonnaroo.
