The YMCA at Virginia Tech presents the 2022 Healthy Kids Day on Saturday, April 30, 2022 located on the field and tennis courts between Cassell Coliseum and the YMCA Lancaster House on the campus of Virginia Tech.

This year the YMCA at Virginia Tech will celebrate the 30th anniversary of Healthy Kids Day®, a national initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids.

Healthy Kids Day® is a free "summer kick-off" event consisting of music, fun filled games, healthy snacks, crafts, temporary tattoos, interactive demonstrations & performances from local groups, VT therapy Dogs, VT Police, Montgomery-Floyd Regional Library Book Mobile, educational & enrichment activities for families and a healthy focus on family life! Local organizations will also be promoting various summer programs and activities that are perfect for kids.

The event will also be promoting local summer programs and activities for children, encouraging them to remain active throughout the summer months. Our theme for the event will be Nostalgia-evoking "feel good" memories of past healthy activities and encouraging excitement about the future.

This year we're also introducing the Y Fun Run starting at 10:30 AM and the Y Fabulous 4 Miler both starting at the Lancaster House at 9:00 AM as part of the event.

The YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day®, the nation’s largest health day for kids, to inspire families to get in a routine of exercising their bodies and minds. Typically more than 1.2 million parents and children participate in more than 1,900 free Y community events across the country. Activities throughout the day get kids moving and learning and motivate families to create a healthier home environment.

Free and open to the public.

Free parking will be available on the Virginia Tech campus.

The YMCA Lancaster House is located at 403 Washington Street in Blacksburg, VA on the campus of Virginia Tech.
