The Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery presents their 2022 Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 30, 2022.
The public is invited and encouraged to attend this tribute to honor and remember the men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice in service to our Nation.
The keynote speaker for the ceremony will be Major General Randal D. Fullhart (US Air Force, Retired). He will be introduced by Master of Ceremonies Dr. Terry Wildman. Music will be provided by the 29th Division Band.
Admission is free.
It is recommended and requested that attendees plan to arrive at 9:00 AM.
Parking is available on-site and at the nearby Lions Club.
Members of the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery Volunteers will place American flags on all graves prior to the ceremony.
The Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery is one of three state veterans cemeteries operated by the Virginia Department of Veterans Services (DVS). There will also be Memorial Day Ceremonies held at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia, the Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, and at the Virginia War Memorial in Richmond.
