The YMCA at Virginia Tech and Blacksburg Wine Lab presents World Wine Tour Happy Hour as part of #GiveLocalNRV on Wednesday, June 22, 2022.

Take a trip around the globe one glass at a time. Wine Lab will be pouring wines from over a dozen counties for just $5.00 a glass during this fund-raising phenomenon!

Support the Y's fundraising activity for their Community Food Fund while enjoying great company and supporting an awesome local business.

Park in the Turner Street Parking Garage and join us.

The YMCA at Virginia Tech received a grant from Y-USA, No Kid Hungry and a few other donors to purchase a food truck, which will become our mobile kitchen. We were also proud to become the region’s USDA sponsor. Both of these developments are helping us to provide youth from low-income families with access to shelf stable, and soon, fresh, hot meals.

We have been consistently distributing shelf stable meals five days a week to more than 300 children for nearly three years, supplemented by fresh bread donated by local bakers and eggs and occasional produce from the NRV Glean Team. With the exciting addition of our new Food Truck, our goal is to start providing daily fresh cooked meals following USDA and YUSA healthy food guidelines directly to children in their community.

As part of our #GiveLocalNRV fundraising for the YMCA at VT this year we are hoping to raise $26,000 to launch our new Food Truck which will bring fresh cooked healthy meals directly to the children where they live.
