The Blacksburg Regional Art Association (BRAA) and the Blacksburg Farmers Market presents the inaugural Paint at the Market on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 meeting on the corner of Draper and Roanoke Streets in downtown Blacksburg, VA near Market Square Park.
The Blacksburg Regional Art Association has teamed up with the Blacksburg Farmers Market to create a fun new event during the regular Wednesday Farmers Market.
All local artists who enjoy the challenge of Plein air painting are invited to join the Blacksburg Farmers Market for this first time event. But, the event is not limited to painting. Participants can create whatever type of art they want to.
A still life setup will also be available for those who might want to attempt to paint it instead of the general market madness.
Several tents and chairs will be available for artists on the lawn. Artists can work in or outside the tents as long as they don't impede market traffic. All artists (not just BRAA members) are invited to set up in the tents or nearby to make art of the usual market mania that takes place on Wednesdays. Wednesdays are not as crowded as Saturdays so don't let the market painting thing scare you away.
The Perspective Gallery will have an art table with watercolors and paper to entice wannabe artists of all ages to find their inner Van Gogh.
Music will be provided by guitarist Justin Craig.
Bring your own supplies & equipment and your eye for art.
Admission is free and all are welcome.
Parking will be available on Draper Street, Roanoke Street, Church Street and Kent Street.
The event is rain or shine.
