UPDATE: Unfortunately we have made the call to cancel the Community Picnic scheduled for today due to a threat of severe weather.
The YMCA at Virginia Tech continues their Welcoming Week events with a Community Picnic on Saturday, September 11, 2022 at Blacksburg Municipal Park's Shelter #4.
Enjoy meeting new friends. There will be fun activities for all including a community soccer game. Attendees should bring their own picnic.
Admission is free and all are welcome.
In case of severe weather the event might be cancelled.
Welcoming Week, occurring September 9th-18th, brings New River Valley neighbors of all backgrounds together to build strong connections and affirm the importance of welcoming and inclusive places. The YMCA at Virginia Tech is proud to host our 2nd annual Welcoming Week with support from the Town of Blacksburg, Montgomery-Floyd Regional Library, local businesses, community groups and individuals.
For this 10th anniversary of the national Welcoming Week, join in at a variety of family-friendly activities and events designed to celebrate every member of this community. Be welcomed, and welcome others, because this is "Where We Belong!"
Blacksburg Municipal Park is located at 920 Turner Street in Blacksburg, VA.
