The Blacksburg Partnership and Virginia Tech's New Student and Family Programs presents Kickoff on College Avenue on Friday, September 16, 2022 in downtown Blacksburg, VA.
Come on down to College Avenue to kick off the Fall Family Weekend and the Virginia Tech vs. Wofford football game weekend. All are welcome!
Grab a beverage or a bite to eat at a downtown Blacksburg restaurant and enjoy some of what the Blacksburg and Virginia Tech community has to offer. There will be activities and entertainment appropriate for all ages, so make sure to bring the family.
Activities include, but are not limited to: cornhole and other lawn games, music, spirit & traditions led by the Student Alumni Ambassadors, free Hokie swag, Virginia Tech resources, and a "Future Hokies" Kid Zone. A beer garden on Draper Road will be open from 5:00–9:00 PM with beer, wine, and non-alcoholic options will be available.
Admission is free.
Official Family Weekend activities and entertainment will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, but guests are encouraged to spend the remainder of the evening in Downtown Blacksburg!
Kickoff on College Avenue is hosted by The Blacksburg Partnership and Virginia Tech's New Student and Family Programs, in coordination with the Town of Blacksburg and Downtown Blacksburg, Inc.
