Description:
Hethwood Market hosts a Hot Dog Eating Contest for both Individuals and a Team Competition on Sunday, September 18, 2022.

Do you have dreams of being the next "Hot Dog Eating" Champion? Well here is your chance. Contestants will have five minutes to eat all the hot dogs they can.

There will be two age divisions, ages 13-17 male and female, and 18 & above for male and female. The team divisions will include 5 person teams, male and female. Ties will be decided by an eat off.

You must be 13 years of age to enter the contest. Contestants ages 13-17 must have the registration form signed by a parent or guardian for them to be eligible to compete.

The entry fee is $5.00 in advance or $10.00 the day of the event per contestant.

Non-contestants are welcome to attend and enjoy the event too. Hethwood Market will have ice cream, hot dogs, BBQ, nachos, kettle corn, beer & wine available for purchase along with live music by Hot Diggity Dog. There will also be a Hot Dog Costume Contest starting at 3:30 PM and contestants will register the day of the event.

Hot Diggity Dog is a New River Valley duo comprised of Bobby Parker and Eric Stafford performing country, folk and blues.

Admission for non-contestants is free.

Hot dog eating contestants must eat the entire hot dog including the bun to be counted. Contestants may drink water, which will be provided, while eating their hot dogs. Visible signs of sickness will result in disqualification.
