Description:
The Christiansburg Department of Parks & Rec presents the 7th Annual Tony Huddleston Trout Rodeo on Saturday, October 8, 2021 at the Izaak Walton Facility's upper pond.
Schedule:
• 12:00-2:00 PM: Registration
• 2:00-4:00 PM: Fishing
• 4:30 PM: Awards and Giveaways
Join us and test your child’s fishing ability along with giveaways, raffles (correct change only), prizes and goodie bags. The first 100 participants registered will receive a free t-shirt.
More than 300 fish will be stocked in the local Izaak Walton pond for the trout rodeo. Each child will be allowed to catch up to four fish in the two hour fishing time slot. All trout caught must be kept. Other species can be released, but will not be weighed. All participants are expected to be able to manage fishing with their equipment on their own.
There will be four age groups for ages 4-15 (4-6, 7-9, 10-12 & 13-15). Prizes will be awarded for 1st-3rd place in each age bracket as well as for biggest and smallest fish.
Lunch will be provided to all participants.
Admission is free. Pre-registration is preferred and open until October 7th at 5:00 PM.

The event is designed for ages 4-15 years old.
Note: No minnows, crawfish or frogs will be permitted to be used as bait. Other bait like worms, crickets, PowerBaits, etc. are allowed.
The Izaak Walton Facility is located at Izaak Walton Lane in Christiansburg, VA off of Den Hill Road.
