Christiansburg Department of Parks and Recreation presents the annual Getting Scary on the Huckleberry 5k, Kids Fun Run and Truck or Treat on Saturday, October 29, 2022 starting and ending at the Christiansburg Recreation Center.

Race Day Schedule:
• 7:30-8:30 AM: Race Day Registration & Packet Pick-Up
• 8:45 AM: Kids Fun Run
• 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Trunk or Treat
• 9:00 AM: 5k Walk / Run begins

Come dressed up in your favorite costume and ready to have fun! Getting Scary on the Huckleberry race participants begin and end the 5k at the Christiansburg Recreation Center. There will also be a free Kid's Fun Run for ages 10 and under. After the race, participants can enjoy a free breakfast including the famous pumpkin pancakes prepared by Parks and Recreation staff.

Trucks from Christiansburg Fire, Police, Rescue and Public Works will be stationed for kids and kids at heart to look at and touch. We’ll also have arts and craft, games, and Montgomery-Floyd Regional Library will be at the event. Participating organizations will be handing out candy.

Admission for the Truck or Treat and Kids Fun Run are free.

Registration for the 5k is $30.00 if registered by October 14th and $35.00 for registration after October 14th.

Race day registration is allowed, but we strongly encourage you to register before the day of the race.

The 5k is open to ages 9 and older.

Awards and prize money will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male and female finishers. Medals will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in each age group. Don't forget your costumes because there will be awards given for those, too!

Strollers are welcome however participants with strollers will need to start at the back.

No animals will be allowed on the race course.
