New River Rapids Flyball Club and Flying Fur present the Falling For Flyball 2022 Flyball Tournament for Dogs on Saturday, October 22, 2022 and Sunday, October 23, 2022 in the gymnasium at the Blacksburg Community Center.

Schedule:
• Saturday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Sunday: 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Enjoy the controlled chaos that is our sport! Flyball is a very fast-paced (and loud) relay race for dogs. The tournament will feature 20 teams competing.

At first glance, Flyball is quite the contract to more traditional obedience based events. Loud with barking dogs and their handlers getting them amped up, it's like attending a rock concert versus a symphony. But don't let the apparent chaos fool you, these dogs are amazing athletes and spend many hours in training and practice.

Admission is free and leashed spectator dogs are welcome.

Sam's Hot Dog Stand food truck will be available on Sunday only from 11:30 AM -- 1:30 PM.

There will also be a great raffle for “dog stuff” and a baked goods table.

Suggestions for spectators:
• The racing dogs are very pumped up as they come on and off the racing lanes. Please be sure to stay well back from them, and as always ask before you pet a dog. Most of our dogs love it during down times!

• If you have a dog with you, please be sure s/he is under firm control – most dogs are very excited by seeing the racing and might try to come join the fun!

• Please no flash photography.

• Please hold small children by the hand!

• Feel free to ask questions. Most competitors love talking about the sport and their dogs (if they’re not just about to go in the racing lane).
