The Virginia Tech School of Performing Arts presents Virginia Tech Woodwind Day on Saturday, October 29, 2022 with most events inside the Squires Recital Salon located on the campus of Virginia Tech.

Event Schedule:
• 9:30 AM: Faculty Solo/Chamber Music /Student Chamber Music Recital* (Squires Recital Salon)
• 10:30 AM: VT Students Masterclass (Squires Recital Salon)
• 1:30 PM: Fundamentals Class (Recital Salon and Squires 243)
• 2:30 PM: U.S. Army Woodwind Quintet* (Squires Recital Salon)

The U.S. Army Woodwind Quintet and guest Sarah Roberts will perform a free program as a part of VT Woodwind Day 2022.

Founded in 1996, The U.S. Army Band Woodwind Quintet is one of the Army’s premier chamber ensembles. An element of The United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own,” the quintet is frequently called upon in support of high-level military and civilian events at the White House, the U.S. Capitol, the Pentagon, and other locations around Washington, DC. The musicians include MSG Robert Aughtry, flute/piccolo; SFC Meredeth. Rouse, oboe/English horn; SFC Aaron Scott, Clarinet, E-flat clarinet; SFC Aaron Cockson, horn; and SFC Patricia Morgan, bassoon.

Sarah Roberts is Assistant Professor of Saxophone and Jazz Studies at The University of Texas at Tyler.
