Montgomery County Parks and Recreation presents the 2022 Rowdy Dawg Mountain Bike Race on Saturday, October 30, 2022 starting and ending at Pandapas Pond in Blacksburg, VA
The Rowdy Dawg is the oldest continuously run mountain bike race in the state of Virginia, beginning in 1988. This classic mountain bike race is a must for local mountain bikers! There is a race category for everyone, whether you are just starting out on your bike or you are a Brush Mountain veteran. We have some of the best mountain bike trails in the state. Racing takes place on the Poverty Creek Trail System on Brush Mountain. Join the tradition and register to compete today!
Race Categories include:
• Beginner (5.5 miles)
• Sport XC (13 miles)
• Expert XC (18 miles)
• XXC (34 miles)
We are utilizing chip timing and start time slots. Chip timing is able to precisely measure your race results by registering your race chip as you pass the start and finish lines. You will have an individual clock associated with your race bib.
Race Start Time Slots:
• XXC: Begin your race anytime between 8:00-8:15 AM
• Expert XC:Begin your race anytime between 9:45-10:00 AM
• Sport XC and Beginner: Begin your race anytime between 10:00-10:15 AM
The cost is $40.00 for pre-registration and day-of registration. Register online, by calling 540-382-6975, or by visiting the Montgomery County Parks and Rec office at 755 Roanoke Street in Christiansburg, VA.

Day-of registrations for the Rowdy Dawg can be made starting at 7:00 AM on race day and will continue until each race start time.
Additionally, racers can compete in the Enduro. The Enduro features three fun and fast downhill segments including the Gateway Trail, Jacobs Ladder, and Wilkes Wood of the Poverty Creek Trail System. Register at the bottom of the Gateway Trail at 1:00 PM. Pay the $10.00 Enduro fee by cash or Venmo the day of the event. There is no online registration for the Enduro. Costumes are encouraged.
The race check-in and start/finish line is located at the Upper Pandapas Parking Lot at the Pandapas Pond Day Use Area in Blacksburg, VA. This lot is the first left once you enter off Route 460.
The Rowdy Dawg is part of a double header weekend with the Brush Mountain Breakdown Trail Run, which features a 12 miler, 7 miler, and 5k fun run. Complete the 12 mile trail run and 35 XXC Rowdy Dawg course to contend for Top Dawg.
