The Virginia Tech School of Performing Arts kicks off their Music on Mondays concert series featuring Horn Kevin Rivard with Pianist Jay Crone and Tenor Brian Thorsett on Monday, January 22, 2023 at the Squires Student Center on the campus of Virginia Tech.

Known for his “delicious quality of tone,” Juilliard graduate Kevin Rivard is currently Principal Horn of the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra and Co-Principal Horn of the San Francisco Opera Orchestra. As a soloist and chamber musician, he has performed with the New Century Chamber Orchestra, the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.

Jay Crone joined the Virginia Tech faculty in 1994. He has performed with many symphony orchestras and bands throughout the United States, including the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra and the Fresno Philharmonic Orchestra.

Hailed as "a strikingly gifted tenor, with a deeply moving, unblemished voice" (sfmusicjournal.com), tenor Brian Thorsett excels in opera, oratorio and recital across the world. Since taking to the stage, he has been seen and heard in over 100 diverse operatic roles, ranging from Monteverdi to Britten, back to Rameau and ahead again to works composed specifically for his talents. As a concert singer, he fosters a stylistically diversified repertoire of over 250 works, which has taken him to concert halls across the US and Europe.

Tickets are $15.00 for adults and $10.00 for Virginia Tech students with Valid ID and Youth ages 3-18. Tickets for seniors are $12.00.
