VCOM's Student Association of Military Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (SAMOPS) presents the SAMOPS 5k for the Wounded Warrior Project on Saturday, October 14, 2023 starting and ending at the Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM).
SAMOPS 5k is a combined virtual and in-person event hosted by SAMOPS, one of the VCOM student organizations. We encourage participants to purchase our t-shirt with 50% of the proceeds from t-shirt sales helping veterans and active duty service members through the Wounded Warrior Project.
To participate in person the race begins at 9:00 AM with prizes will be awarded to the male and female winners.
Virtual 5k race participants can run anytime between October 7-14, 2023. Send a selfie and recorded time to twegrzyn@vcom.edu to be entered into a raffle for prizes.
The cost for race admission only for both in-person and virtual is $15.00 per person. The cost for race admission and t-shirt to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project and picked up in-person on race day is $25.00 and $31.00 for t-shirts to be shipped.
