Description:
The Virginia Tech School of Performing Art presents the Virginia Tech Wind Ensemble and Symphony Band in concert on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at the Moss Arts Center at Virginia Tech.

The Virginia Tech Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Derek Shapiro, and the Symphony Band, under the direction of Chad Reep, present their first concert of the season.

On the program:
• "Astra" by Katahj Copley
• "dream of ember, dream of star" by David Biedenbender
• "... and the antelope play" by John Carnahan
• "Illumination" by David Maslanka
• "Go Down Moses" by Carlos Simon
• "Zigzag" by Julia Wolfe
• "Flourishes and Medtations on a Renaissance Theme" by Michael Gandolfi
• "Profanation" from Symphony no. 1, "Jeremiah" by Leonard Bernstein

Admission is $15.00 for the general public, $12.00 for seniors and $10.00 for Virginia Tech students and youth.
