The Pearisburg Merchants Association presents the 8th Annual Pearisburg Scarecrow Festival on Saturday, October 7, 2023 on Wenonah Avenue and Tazewell Streets in downtown Pearisburg, VA.

• 11:00 AM: Kids' Activities
• 1:30 PM: Halloween Costume Contest
• 1:30 PM: Cutest Baby Contest
• 1:30 PM: Pet Photo Contest
Tazewell Street:
• 9:30 AM: Car Cruse-In
• 11:00 AM: Dance Motion
• 11:30 AM: New River Voices Choral Society
• 12:00 PM: Giles County School of Dance
• 1:30 PM: Crystal River Band Performs
This fun, family friendly, fall festival features live music & entertainment on two stages, vendors, fall photo opportunities, kids fun, contests including a Halloween Costume, Cutest Baby and Pet Photo, food and more along with over 25 scarecrows on display throughout town!
The Halloween Costume Contest features two age groups kids ages 0-17 and adults 18 & older. There will be eight categories per age group and winners will receive award ribbons.
The Cutest Baby Contest is for ages 0 to 12 months. The baby can be at the contest in person or you can submit a photo before October 5th by texting it to 540-599-9560, email to agmoser1@gmail.com or send a Facebook Messenger to Amanda Moser. Winner will receive a ribbon for each category.
The Pet Photo Contest photos must be submitted by October 5th by texting it to 540-599-9560, email to agmoser1@gmail.com or send a Facebook Messenger to Amanda Moser with name and age of the pet and pet owner's name and phone number. Winner will receive a ribbon for each category.
Tron Nation will be on site for photos from 12:00-2:00 PM and there will also be a photo opportunity with the red truck and antique tractor.
The Pearisburg Junior Women's Club will sponsor the Heritage Hall Rich Creek Resident Art Contest and Relay For Life of the New River Valley will sponsor the Breast Cancer Awareness Tent.
Make sure to walk around downtown to see the featured guests, the scarecrows, created by local businesses, organizations and groups, that will be displayed throughout downtown Pearisburg.
Admission is free and all are welcome. Some activities have an additional charges.
Parking is available on the street or in parking lots off Tazewell Street and Mountain Lake Avenue.
