Radford University Planetarium presents Thursday Night at the Planetarium with "Big Astronomy" on Thursday, November 2, 2023.
Join us for an evening at the Radford University Planetarium! We will take you on a tour of the current sky, including the planets, prominent stars, and constellations that you can see now. We will fly you through space to see what lies beyond our own planet. And then we will have an amazing full dome planetarium show that will have something for everyone.
After touring the night sky, this 26-minute full dome show describes how it takes many people with diverse backgrounds, talents, and skills to run a world-class observatory. Meet a few of these people as they share the wonder of the sky—and the excitement of discovery. Explore the world-class observatories nestled in northern Chile’s mountains and learn why Chile, with its beautiful mountain ranges and clear, cloudless skies create an ideal environment for studying the cosmos.
Admission is free and all are welcome.
Radford University Planetarium is located at 925 East Main Street in Radford, VA.
