The Cranwell International Center at Virginia Tech and The Department of Sustainable Biomaterials at Virginia Tech presents a Free Irish Movie Double Feature: "The Quiet Girl" and "An Irish Goodbye" on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at The Lyric Theatre.

Enjoy an evening at the movies featuring two Irish films.

"The Quiet Girl" is a 2022 drama rated PG-13 starring Carrie Crowley, Andrew Bennett and Catherine Clinch and runs 1 hour and 35 minutes. The film is a 2023 Nominee for Best International Feature Oscar.

Movie Synopsis:
Rural Ireland 1981. A quiet, neglected girl is sent away from her dysfunctional family to live with foster parents for the summer. She blossoms in their care, but in this house where there are meant to be no secrets, she discovers one painful truth.

"An Irish Goodbye" is a 2022 comedy, drama short that is unrated starring Seamus O'Hara, James Martin and Paddy Jenkins. The film is the 2023 winner of Best Live Action Short Oscar and runs 23 minutes.
